Lived in color meets luxury extensions

My two passions-- low maintenance color & seamless extensions-- fuse together to create the ultimate personalized experience from start to finish.

The hand-tied difference

Hand-tied extensions are a type of hair extension made by hand tying hairs onto a group of strings, called a tether, to create a wide panel of hair called a weft. This method of weft construction results in an ultra flat, flexible, and lightweight weft perfect for a wide range of hair types and textures. Unlike other methods, hand-tied extensions do not require any adhesives, glues, or heat for application or chemicals/solvents for removal.

Application methods of hand-tied extensions can vary greatly, but generally consist of a group of wefts sewn onto a "track", which is created using your natural hair and small silicone lined beads.

Removal of hand-tied extensions is as simple as cutting out the stitches to release the extensions from the track then gently removing the beads using pliers.

While hand-tied extension application sounds simple and straight forward, it is an incredibly meticulous and precise process that can cause damage and discomfort if not done properly. I have trained extensively to ensure that my method of application is not causing tension, overdirection, scalp discomfort, or hair breakage all while still looking seamless! Sectioning, bead angle, weight distribution, and stitching pattern are just a few of many details that go into a comfortable and safe extension installation.

With expertly installed hand-tied extensions, your extensions will be flexible, comfortable, and the best part-- virtually invisible. And did I mention easy to maintain at home with salon visits only 4-6 times a year?

The Experience

INQUIRE

Fill out the pre-consultation form so I can gather more information about your hair, your goals, and see if we are a good fit.

After submitting the form, you will receive a follow up email within 3 business days:

If I have availability, you will receive instructions for moving forward.

If I do not have availability at the moment, you will be added to the waitlist.

If I do not feel we would be a good fit, you will be notified with why.

PREP

There's generally a 3-6 week period between your consultation and your install appointment. At this time, I will order, custom color, and prep your extensions so they are ready for install day.

HOME MAINTENANCE

You will be responsible for following all your aftercare instructions during your 8-10 week period between appointments.

If you have any questions or experience any issues with your extensions during this period, please reach out to me so we can assess the issue!

Your full aftercare guide can be found here.

MAINTENANCE DAY

After your 8-10 week growth period, its time for your first maintenance appointment!

During this appointment, I will assess your growout and make any necessary adjustments based on the quality of your growout as well as your feedback on comfort, placement, etc.

Row by row, we will completely remove the extensions and foundation, remove natural shed from the beadwork, tidy up the section, and reinstall the extensions. This takes approximately one hour per row. If we are coloring as well, this will happen immediately after the extensions are reinstalled.

The base appointment includes the extension maintenance only, however a style or cut may be added at an additional charge. See maintenance pricing here.

Please arrive to this appointment with clean, dry hair. Washing is not included prior to reinstalling the extensions and I am unable to provide a precise and detailed install on dirty hair. If the hair is too dirty, the appointment will be rescheduled.

CONSULT

When your form is approved, you will be given instructions via email to schedule an in person consultation.

During the consultation, we will discuss your goals, maintenance, pricing, answer any questions, and get you scheduled for your install appointment.

A 50% deposit will be taken as a retainer for your install appointment. Payment plans are available as well!

APPOINTMENT DAY

The moment we've all been waiting for!

When you arrive, we will start by taking some before photos. Try to avoid wearing neons, prints, or hoodies. Dark hair will look best against a plain, light colored top and light hair will look best against a plain, dark colored top.

Install only appointments generally take anywhere from 2-4 hours while color and install appointments can be 6-8+ hours.

You will have access to complementary snacks, coffee, and water and have an iPhone charger + wifi available to use! Please don't hesitate to bring your laptop if you want to get some work done during your appointment.

If you are getting a color service done, we will start with that then install the extensions, shape, style, and go over the full aftercare instructions as well as answer any additional questions you may have.

We will finish by getting some after shots and scheduling your first maintenance appointment!

LIFESPAN

You can expect to get anywhere from 6-12 months of life out of your extension hair.

Following all of the aftercare instructions is absolutely key in getting the most out of your investment.

Typically lighter colored extensions will have a shorter lifespan than darker extensions due to  the chemical process of lightening the hair.

Extension hair does need to be trimmed over the course of wearing it just like your real hair, so you can expect some shrinkage to occur over the course of wearing your hair.

When the extensions are beginning to show signs of wear, I will let you know about how long until I feel we should replace your hair. Replacing up to half of the wefts during the lifespan of your extensions is also an option to extend the life of your set.

The cycle will then repeat with a fresh new install!

FAQ

How are the extensions attached?

The extensions are attached by sewing wefts, which are wide strips of hair, onto a "track", which is a foundation made by feeding your natural hair through small silicone lined beads.

I have fine hair, will these work for me?

Yes! These extensions are safe for all hair types including fine, thin hair. In fact, most of my clients who wear extensions have fine hair!

How often do I have to come to the salon for maintenance?

For fine to average density, salon maintenance is recommended every 8-10 weeks. For ultra fine hair, I recommend maintenance every 6-7 weeks.

How do I take care of hand-tied extensions at home?

Aftercare is such an important part of having a great experience with extensions! We will thoroughly discuss your role of caring for your extensions at home during your install appointment. In-depth home care instructions can always be found here.

What kind of hair do you use?

I only use the highest quality Russian and European hair that is thick and fluffy from root to end. I use several different brands depending on availability and have thoroughly tested each to ensure the quality is up to the highest standards.

How often do I have to replace the hair?

Longevity is very dependent on how the hair is treated during your time away from the salon. With proper home care, you can expect to replace your hair after10-12 months of wear. If the extensions are not treated kindly, you can expect to replace them every 6-8 months.

I wear my hair up a lot, will extensions work for me?

Yes! These extensions are designed to be extremely flexible and seamlessly flip up into a high ponytail and bun. Because the attachment point is hidden inside, the top of the row is identical to the underneath making wearing them up just as seamless and comfortable as wearing them down.

Do I have to use special products with extensions?

Yes- you should only use moisturizing/hydrating products on your extensions. Your product routine should include hydrating shampoo & conditioner, deep conditioner, leave in conditioner, hydrating serum, and heat protectant. I recommend Goldie Locks, Pureology, and Kevin Murphy products only for your extensions. Repairing, strengthening, keratin, bonding, and protein based products should be avoided while wearing extensions. A full product regimen can be found here.

I have an active lifestyle, am I a candidate for extensions?

Yes! Because the extensions can be flipped up into a ponytail so easily and comfortably, they are perfect for those with an active lifestyle. I do recommend using dry shampoo prior to heavily sweating and making sure the tops of your wefts are blown dry ASAP after a workout.

Will they hurt?

No! Most of my clients say they forget they are wearing extensions because of how comfortable these feel. Minor tenderness in the scalp is normal for some for the first 1-3 days as you adjust to wearing extensions, however the extensions should not feel painful beyond that.

What will my investment look like?

The initial investment is based on your current hair and what is needed to achieve your goal hair. These extensions are very customizable so pricing can vary greatly from client to client. It is best to fill out the new client form to receive a custom quote. Maintenance pricing can be found here.

Can I change my color while wearing extensions?

You can maintain the same color, try different tonal variations, or darken the extensions, but they cannot be lightened. If you are stuck between wanting a lighter and darker look, I recommend starting off lighter so you have the freedom to darken the hair over time. If you do wish to go lighter while wearing extensions, we do have the option to swap out a few wefts with lighter shades or you can wait until you are ready for a new set to go lighter.
